Sustainability

sustainabilityiZone Imaging’s Custom High Pressure Laminate (CHPL) signs and graphic panels are completely manufactured in-house, using our own press (the only privately-owned press in North America dedicated to the production of custom high pressure laminates). CHPL is composed of approximately 13% plastic resins and 87% paper.

The majority of our paper content, or the central “core” of our panels, is sourced from suppliers who are Chain of Custody (CoC) certified through the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) using the Controlled Wood Standard (CWS).

Our uniquely integrated, “start-to-finish” manufacturing facility offers increased efficiency and a reduced carbon footprint. For example, in 2012 a new energy efficient cooling tower was installed to which improved energy consumption in our manufacturing process by approximately 30%.

Finally, iZone employees are committed to eco-friendly causes, and follow internal recycling and waste reduction program to ensure minimal environmental impacts.

LEED Rating System sections that may apply to the use of CHPL on your project include:

  • Local/Regional Materials (MR Credit 5, for projects within 500 miles of our plant in Temple, TX.
  • Certified Wood (MR Credit 7).
  • Indoor Environmental Quality and Low-Emitting Materials (EQ credit 4.1 and 4.4).
