IZone to Feature New ICE Finish at SEGD Expo
Q: What's the one thing iZone and Toyota have in common?
A: Process Innovation.

No, we do not make phenolic Corollas. Too many moving parts. iZone manufactures excellent phenolic sign and interpretive panels, all by itself. In our continuing search for better ways to make better products, we've recently introduced our ICE finish, formulated to ward off environmental and vandal-borne evil in its many forms. We've stopped top-coating our exterior panels with a protective overspray, which was a pretty good way of doing things already. Now we're molding in superior UV and scratch resistance as part of our pressing process. Our automotive-grade paint booth is currently for sale, so there's no turning back. The finish is standard on XT, exterior-rated panels - no up-charge. For a sample please send your shipping address to: knowjack@izoneimaging.com with "ICE, Please," in the subject line.

See iZone at the Society for Environmental Graphic Design's 2008 Conference Expo
We at iZone are already polishing up our boots and knocking the dust off our chaps for the trail ride an hour south to Austin for the SEGD 2008 Conference Expo, on Friday, May 30.

The conference runs May 28 through 31 and will be unique, even in terms of SEGD's customary offering of substance and liquid sustenance. Much of this is due to the thrill packed agenda (available, along with registration info, at www.segd.com) but a lot is due to the place itself. Austin is the creative and music capital of Texas, along with sporting the capitol building itself. If you wanna work, go to Houston; if you wanna show off, go to Dallas; if you wanna think grand thoughts, (at least during daylight hours) come to Austin.

The Expo is a one-day tour of the architectural sign industry. This is the only venue to see what's new and who made it. In addition, everybody and his brother-in-law are exhibiting this year. It's sure to be the post-graduate seminar for up-to-the-minute sign technology, complete with evening-opening bar, in keeping with any fine institution of higher learning.

Consider this a personal invitation from iZone, "Y'all come!" (If it we offered to everybody, we'd say, "All y'all come!").

iZone Sustainability Statement and Applicable LEED Sections
iZone sign panels are completely manufactured in-house, using our own press (the only privately-owned press in North America dedicated to graphics production).

Digital High Pressure Laminate (DHPL) is composed of approximately 13% plastic resins and 87% paper. The majority of the paper content, that composing the central "core" of a panel, is sourced from suppliers who are third-party certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Standard (SFI). The SFI is endorsed by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PERC).

DHPL is a chemically inert material that does not emit harmful gasses. For this reason, the US National Park Service and the Canadian Conservation Institute advise that phenolic laminate is an ideal material in which to store or accompany fragile, archival materials.

Further, DHPL is an uncatalyzed product that "breathes" small amounts of moisture, reducing drying and yellowing and providing a long, useful life as reflected in our 10-year limited warranty.

LEED Rating System sections that may apply to your project include: Local/Regional Materials (MR Cre dit 5, for projects within 500 miles of our plant in Temple, TX); Certified Wood (MR Credit 7); Indoor Environmental Quality and Low-Emitting Materials (EQ credit 4.1 and 4.4).
